The Island of Skye is the largest and most northerly of the Inner Hebrides, dominated by its mountainous peninsula of The Black Cuillins that offer the most dramatic mountain scenery in the world. A very dramatic journey to and from The Isle of Skye passes through the breath-taking scenery of Glen Garry and Glen Moriston and The Road to The Isles, with many stories of the past to be told.
On this fascinating tour we will use both the ferry and the Skye road bridge to get on and off the Island. The drive to the North and East boasts the capital town of Portree, The Old man of Storr, Kilt Rock, The Quiraing, Duntulm Castle and the final resting place of Flora MacDonald. The Trotternish Peninsula is a landscape full of wildlife and spectacular views to The Outer Hebrides and Wester Ross. The drive to the South and West boasts the finest views of The Cullin Mountains from Elgol, where Flora MacDonald hid Bonnie Prince Charlie. The Talisker Whisky Distillery and The impressive Dunvegan Castle, the oldest continually inhabited castle in Scotland, and the ancestral home of The Clan MacLeod.
